Buy and sell Monero P2P with local currency: P2P Fiat is live
In short: since November 3, 2026 you can buy and sell Monero (XMR) person to person with your local currency on MoneroP2P Fiat. You pay by bank transfer, Zelle, SEPA, Wise, Pix, Interac, UPI or cash, and each order’s XMR is locked in a 2-of-3 multisig escrow on the Monero network until the seller confirms your payment. No KYC, no email, real money.
What a P2P fiat trade is
In a P2P (peer-to-peer) trade there is no exchange in the middle holding your money. You pay the seller directly with the method you both agreed on (a bank transfer, a payment app or cash) and they deliver the Monero. The classic problem is trust: who sends first?
P2P Fiat solves it with an escrow: before you pay, the seller’s XMR is already locked and they cannot take it back on their own. It is only released to you when they confirm your payment, or when support decides an appeal.
How the 2-of-3 escrow works
Each order creates a 2-of-3 multisig Monero address with three keys: buyer, seller and arbiter. Moving the XMR takes two signatures:
- Everything goes fine: the seller confirms your payment and signs with the arbiter; the XMR reaches your address.
- There is a problem: either side opens an appeal. Support reviews the chat and the proofs and signs with the party in the right.
- Nobody can run off with the XMR: not the seller alone, not the arbiter alone. The arbiter also only signs payouts that follow the order’s rules: the exact amount to the buyer and the fee.
The escrow is built when the order opens, not when the ad is posted, because it needs the buyer’s key.
Buying Monero P2P, step by step
- Open the market, pick your currency and payment method and create your account (password only).
- Pick an ad by price, limits and reputation. Only ads from sellers online in the last 10 minutes can be taken.
- Wait for the seller to deposit into the escrow (they have 30 minutes) and for 10 network confirmations (~20 minutes).
- With the XMR locked, the chat and payment details unlock. Pay the exact amount and mark “I have paid”.
- The seller confirms the money arrived and releases. The XMR lands in your wallet.
Want to sell? Post an ad with your price (fixed or a margin over the market price), your methods and limits. When someone takes it, you deposit the XMR into the escrow and release once the money arrives. Anything you overpay is returned automatically; if you underpay, the order is cancelled and refunded.
More detail in how it works.
Protection against scams
- The chat opens only once the XMR is in escrow. Before that nobody can message you or send payment details, so nobody can talk you into paying early.
- Reversible methods flagged. PayPal, Mercado Pago, Revolut and cards can be reversed; they are marked ⚠ and sellers can require a minimum order history.
- Appeals with support from 15 minutes after the payment is marked.
- Public reputation for every user: completed orders, completion rate and release time.
- Open source (AGPL-3.0) on GitHub.

A person-to-person marketplace to buy and sell Monero for local currency. Each order’s XMR sits in a 2-of-3 multisig escrow until the seller confirms the payment.
Does it require KYC or email?
No. Your account is a key generated in your browser, protected with a password and a downloadable backup.
How much does it cost?
Buying is free. The seller pays 0.5% on release, plus the Monero network fee.
What is the limit per order?
1000 USD or the equivalent, and up to 3 open orders per user.
What if the seller does not deposit or does not release?
